Congratulations to the Chili Challenge Winners!
|  | | More than 7000 chili tickets were sold at the Chili challenge on October 11 with 33 businesses and organizations participating. Thank you to Lori Hartmann our chili Challenge Chairperson (aka Chili Empress) for making this the most successful Chili Challenge ever! Also a big thank you to our Betsy Lepak and Jerry Wistrom our Judge coordinators, our volunteers and judges. Thank you to Windsor Federal Savings our presenting sponsor, the Lions Club for sharing the green, the Jaycees for providing beverages, the Kiwanis for fried dough and collecting food for the food bank and the Windsor Fire Department for for educating us on fire awareness.

WCC Board Member Highlight Harry received a B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a M.S. in Community Systems Planning and Development form Pennsylvania State University.
Harry Freeman Harry was a leader in the field of Connecticut economic development for twelve years, first as Economic Development Director for the Town of Windsor from 1992 until 2000 and then as Executive Director of the Hartford Economic Development Commission from 2000 until 2004. In April 2004, he became a principal in a real estate development company, HD2 Development, LLC. In February 2005 Harry purchased Bart's Drive-In Restaurant in Windsor, CT.

A local organization--The Alternative Board --is expanding to increase its support of local businesses. Recently, Peter Begin, founder of TAB Greater Hartford, announced the addition of Steve Porcaro, founder and owner of 1-4 All Coaching, LLC, as a facilitator and coach. In addition to facilitating boards of business owners, Porcaro will lead the new Key Executive Board program focused on advice, training and support for key executives and managers.

Nan Carmon Named Honorary Grand Marshal Windsor resident Nan C. Carmon, a founder of Carmon Community Funeral Homes, will be one of the Honorary Grand Marshals of the "Connecticut Veterans Day Parade to take place in Hartford on Sunday, November 2. Close to 4,000 marchers from all over the state have already signed up for the ninth annual "Connecticut Veterans Day Parade the largest in New England.
