Business Breakfast Hosted by Windsor 75 The Windsor Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast will be hosted by Windsor 75 Restaurant located at 35 Poquonock Avenue from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 1. Chili Fest - October 11 The Chamber's annual chili cook-off is held on the Saturday before Columbus Day every year. Each business or individual contestant chooses a theme for their booth and cooks a unique chili recipe. This year's Chili Challenge is Saturday, October 11 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Windsor Town Green.
Also on the green are the --Lions Club Arts & Crafts Fair --Fire Safety --Canoe Race for the Windsor Food Bank --Grace Church rummage sale & cheese and cider sale

CT Transit Holds Public Meeting Capitol Region Council of Governments, Connecticut Department of Transportation, Greater Hartford Transit District and The Hartford Public Library Partner CTTRANSIT, in partnership with the Capitol Region Council of Governments, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Greater Hartford Transit District and The Hartford Public Library will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Central Branch of the Hartford Public Library in downtown Hartford. The address for the library is 500 Main Street.
The purpose of the public meeting is to give CTTRANSIT bus users an opportunity to make suggestions for changes and share ideas for improvements. CTTRANSIT customers from all areas are encouraged to attend.

WCC Board Member Highlight Ann, a resident of Windsor for 30 years is employed by Windsor Public Schools. Ann is actively involved in the Chamber and serves on the Education Committee. She is the former head of the English Department at Bloomfield High School and a former administrator in the Windsor Adult Education program. She has post secondary degrees from American International College in Springfield, Westfield State College in Westfield, MA, and the University of Hartford. Ann has been actively involved in the Windsor community including serving as secretary and president of the Board of Education. In addition to her professional life and community activities, Ann is an avid traveler, enjoying vacations in Europe and the Caribbean.

2008 Windsor Bridge-Builders Honorees Announced at The Town of Windsor's Human Relations Commission and Citizens for a United Windsor (CUW) presented 2008 Windsor Bridge-Builders Awards to longtime community volunteer James Babb, Chairperson of the Windsor Human Relations Commission Max Kuziak, Windsor Police Officer Bernie Petkis, and Windsor High School Basketball Team Coach Kenneth Smith. All town residents and businesses were invited to a special reception and ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 25 in the Council Chambers on the lower level of Windsor Town Hall at 275 Broad Street. Earlier this year, the community was invited to nominate individuals, organizations or businesses for the Windsor Bridge-Builders Awards and a panel of judges reviewed all entries.
