The Windsor Chamber of Commerce October Business After Hours will be a "Meet the Candidates" moderated debate held on Wednesday, October 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Windsor Town Hall on Broad Street in Windsor.
Meet the candidates for public office and ask questions that affect business and life in Windsor and beyond. Enjoy refreshments and network with other business people. Free and open to the general public. Meg Enkler will moderate.

Veronica Airey Wilson Candidate for the Second Senatorial District
Veronica Airey-Wilson is currently serving her tenth year as an elected official on the Hartford Court of Common Council. She is the first Jamaican to serve as Deputy Mayor of Hartford, Connecticut. Her duties include chairing the Housing Committee and serving as a member of the Finance and Revenue Committee and the Management and Budget Committee.

Senator Eric D. Coleman Senator serving the Second Senatorial District

State Senator Eric D. Coleman began serving the Second Senatorial District in January 1995. The district includes portions of Bloomfield, Windsor and Hartford. Prior to his election to the Senate, he served in the House of Representatives from 1983 to 1994.

Matt Conway Matt Conway - Candidate for State Representative in the 61st District
Dr. Mathew Conway, Jr. has lived in the 61st District for 21 years, moving to Windsor in 1987 and re-locating to Suffield in 1991. In 2005 at age 42, Matt completed a distinguished 20-year career with the Connecticut Department of Corrections, beginning as a technology education teacher and advancing to develop and implement educational programs as a department head and then as principal at two different facilities with the DOC's Unified School District #1. Matt ended his career with DOC as Director of the Correctional Enterprises of Connecticut, with responsibility for running an 8 million dollar organization, comprised of 9 businesses.

Senator John Kissel Senator serving the Seventh Senatorial District
State Senator John A. Kissel is currently serving his eighth term representing Connecticut's 7th Senatorial District, which presently includes East Granby, Enfield, Somers, Suffield, Windsor Locks and portions of Granby and Windsor. Senator Kissel is the Senate's Ranking Member on the Committees on Judiciary, Human Services, and the Program Review and Investigations Committee and also serves on the Commerce Committee.

Representative Faith McMahon

Representative serving the A New Britain, CT native, Faith attended local schools, holds a B.A. from Marymount College, a M.A. from Central Connecticut State University, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from UMass.
Faith has enjoyed a 35-year career as an elementary teacher in the Windsor School Sustem. She has served 15 years on the Bloomfield Town Council. She was elected as the first woman Mayor of Bloomfield. She served in that capacity for ten years. During that time she worked on many committees and boards, including chair of the Human and Leisure Services Committee and the Committee on Committees. She has been council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Committee, the Commission on Aging, the Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities, and the Library Board. She was a member of the Education Committee, the Open Space and Conservation Committee, the Community Awareness Task Force, the Wintonbury Land Trust, the Conservation Energy and Environment Committee, and the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW 9992

Lauren Life Lauren Life - Candidate for State Representative in the 61st District.
Lauren Life is a native of Windsor and graduate of Windsor High School, Lauren Life has lived in Suffield for the past 23 years. Lauren is uniquely positioned to represent the interests of the towns she knows so well. A community activist, Life is presently serving her second term on the Suffield Board of Education where she chairs the policy committee and represents Suffield on the CREC (Capitol Region Education Council) board. Representative Peggy Sayers Peggy Sayers - Representative serving the 60th District
Peggy has served as the State Representative for the 60th district for ten years. She ahs also served as Co-Chair of the Public Health Committee, on the Energy and Technology, and Veterans Committee.
She is a Registered Nurse, with Bachelors in Human Services and a Masters Degree in Health Care Management. Peggy worked at the Connecticut Department of Public Health for fourteen years and has extensive experience and knowledge of the regulatory requirements for health care facilities. She has expertise working with the geriatric and mental health population. As a nurse, she developed a pilot program to meet the psychiatric needs of the older adult in an acute psychiatric hospital, in addition to designing and presenting workshops on stress management.
