The Windsor Chamber of Commerce and First Town Downtown invite you to the summer concert series sponsored by Windsor Businesses. Concerts are on Thursday evenings (rain date following Tuesday)from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on the Windsor Town Green and are free to the public. For more information call 688-5165.
Come early for Read on the Green, a stroll through FTDT's Farmer's Market, dinner at one of our local restaurants and for the concert on the green!
Arrive early for READ ON THE GREEN presented by the Early Childhood Council. This event will feature a story time for families with young children prior to the weekly Thursday evening summer concerts at 6:15 pm on the Town Green. After the story time children will receive a free book.

The next best thing to being at a Neil Diamond concert is seeing Dr. Diamond, the Jazz Singer, in a "Tribute to the Music of Neil Diamond". Dr. Diamond looks and sounds just like Neil Diamond.
Ironically, the lives of Louis S. Competiello, M.D. (Dr. Diamond) and Neil Diamond parallel each other. Both men were born in Brooklyn, New York and later lived on Long Island. Dr. Competiello loved music from an early age but went on to pursue a career in medicine. Neil Diamond wanted to be a physician but his love of music lead him to become one of the greatest music legends of all time.
Dr. Competiello speaks Italian, Spanish, French, and Polish, which he uses in treating many of his patients.
Backed by his great orchestra, Brooklyn Roads, Dr. Diamond is sure to create a memorable experience. Meet the band members below!

The Savage Brothers, a Hartford based band established in 1984, is a 6 piece funkin, rockin, and rhythm group. The band features a two piece horn section and three brothers of the same last name, Savage. The band has performed over 4000 shows all over New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, The Caribbean, and Mexico.
The Savage Brothers have shared the stage with such acts such as Tower of Power, Joan Osborne, James Cotton, Southside Johnny, Lisa Lisa, The Guess Who, Marshall Tucker, and John Cafferty.

July 15th: Tirebiter Band
Connecticut based TIREBITER is a veteran band of thirty years. Two lead vocals and four part harmony provide a dynamic change of vocal emphasis on stage, as well as super harmonies. Diversity of musicianship and playing ability allow TIREBITER to perform songs from an eclectic artist list ranging from the 1960 s to the 2000's. Instruments include keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, and drums.
In addition to their success in the Northeast market, which ranges from New England and New York; TIREBITER has appeared before thousands of fans, sharing civic center stages and outdoor concert stages with Orleans, 38 Special, NRBQ, Nancy Sinatra,and Pure Prairie League to name a few.

Victor Manuel Sterling-Duprey (Papo) was born and raised out of a musical family in Santurce, Puerto Rico.
His father, uncles and aunts sung and danced to the tunes of Arsenio Rodriguez, Septeto Nacional, Ignacio Pi ero, Beny More, Vicentico Valdez, Maria Teresa Vera, Acerina y su Danzonera, Chano Pozo y Conjunto Azul, Cortijo y su Combo, Noro Morales, Moncho Le a, Canario, Matancera, Cheo Belen Puigh, Jorrin, Aragon, Mario, Machito and The AfroCubans Miguelito Valdez, Giraldo Rodriguez, and too many to mention here!

August 12th: Farmington Valley Band - Sponsored by Carmon Funeral Homes
The Farmington Valley Band was organized in 1944 by Fred Widen, a long-standing native of Collinsville. In a way, it was an extension of the earlier Collinsville Boys Band, in which Mr. Widen had been a tuba player. Fred Widen was the driving force behind the Canton Historical museum as well, with his extensive collection of Collins related artifacts. His original Sousaphone can be seen there today, along with a re-created bandstand from the old days, worth the trip to see it. In the 1944 band reorganization, Mr. Victor Viering was selected as the band s conductor. Mr. Viering had been a trombonist in the Collinsville Boys Band.
