For couples who wish to marry immediately a Justice of the Peace will be available all day, however, prior arrangements must be made.
After 50 YEARS . . .Romance is still in the Air in Windsor!
Town seeks past lovebirds to help celebrate Windsor's tradition of free marriage licenses on Valentines Day
The Windsor Town Clerk's office is celebrating the golden anniversary of offering free marriage licenses to couples on February 14th in honor of Valentine's Day!
The tradition of free marriage licenses was started by Windsor Town Clerk George Tudan in 1962.
Because this is a special year, we are trying to locate couples who received a free marriage license over these past years.
A reunion celebration for past lovebirds with cake, punch and a drawing for a gift basket filled with items from our generous Windsor merchants will be held in the Clerk's office on February 14th. A Justice of the Peace will be on hand for vow renewals if requested.
If you are one of the couples, or know of a couple that has received a free marriage license on any Valentine's Day over the past 50 years in the Windsor Town Clerk's office, please contact us at 860-285-1902.
