Historic District Tag Sale

Miles long tag sale in Windsor's Historic District

Over 12 family's join in first annual "Tag Sale Heaven." Saturday, September 12th 8am - 1pm-ish

What better way to spend a Saturday morning than driving through Windsor's Historic District scouting for valuable and interesting knickknacks. More than a dozen families up and down Palisado Avenue will be holding their first annual "Tag Sale Heaven."

Terese Newman, a tag sale addict since early childhood, decided to create a little excitement in Connecticut's oldest town. Mrs. Newman states "My neighbors, Mayela and Steve Ernest and Vic and Jean DesJardins had been holding a neighborhood tag sale every year, so this year we thought, 'hey, let's include all of Palisado Avenue.' We're usually out Saturday mornings buying, but this time we'll be selling. We can dig through each other's discarded treasures and do a little socializing to boot." The neighbors have pledged to continue the yearly Tag Sale Heaven, as long as there are garages, attics and basements to clean.

One of the unique aspects of holding "Tag Sale Heaven" on Palisado Avenue in Windsor is that the sale is taking place in one of the oldest communities in the State of Connecticut. The Town was the first English settlement in the State, having been incorporated back in 1633. Being in the historic district should assure loads of unique and appealing items being put on the block.
