Design Professionals Acquires Petersen & Hoffman
March 7, 2005 – In a move to expand its land surveying, landscape architecture and site engineering business in the Farmington Valley, Design Professionals, Inc. (DPI) of South Windsor has acquired Petersen & Hoffman of West Hartford, a land surveying company whose roots go back to the late 1800s. According to DPI President and Founding Principal Peter DeMallie, the purchase includes valuable and historic land surveying and civil engineering records produced by Petersen & Hoffman during more than 100 years of service to Greater Hartford clients. As part of the acquisition, DPI will occupy Petersen & Hoffman’s West Hartford offices at 998 Farmington Avenue. “We believe,” DeMallie said, “that having a presence in the Farmington Valley will help us to increase our commercial and residential surveying, civil engineering, and landscape architecture practice in West Hartford, Bloomfield, Windsor, Canton, Avon, Simsbury, and Farmington.”
Design Professionals is headquartered at 165 South Satellite Rd., South Windsor, and provides site planning and engineering, landscape architecture, land surveying, and geographic information consulting services (GIS). The company was formed in 1986 and has completed over 2,000 projects in 120 communities throughout Connecticut.
