Huntington Museum Closing

The Huntington House Museum today announced that it is permanently closing on August 27. Founders Dan and Alice Ford Ferraina have decided to sell the museum, which opened in October 2001. The museum goes on the market in January 2006.

The museum offered a range of arts and cultural events and exhibited the works of noted painters, sculptors, photographers, textile artists and potters from throughout New England. The current and final exhibit, Summer Invitational Fine-arts Exhibition, ends August 27.

"The upcoming sale requires the museum to end its operations," said Board President Michael Rabbett. "The board of directors and I thank the volunteers, donors and others who have supported the museum since its inception."

The Huntington House Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development, preservation, display, and interpretation of outstanding collections, exhibitions, and educational programs in a variety of art mediums. The museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $6. Admission for senior citizens and students is $4. Children under 12 are admitted free.
