Avon Mtn. Crash Survivor / Author to Speak at Special Rotary Club Meeting

Avon Mountain Crash Survivor / Author to speak at Windsor/Windsor Locks Rotary

Mark Robinson, the Canton resident who survived the fateful Avon Mountain crash on July 29, 2005 will be the guest speaker at the February 18th meeting of the Rotary Club of Windsor and Windsor locks.

Mr. Robinson sustained serious injuries when the 70,000 pound truck owned by American Crushing and Recycling of Bloomfield lost its brakes and slammed into a row of cars and a bus at the base of Avon Mountain. Four people died in the fiery crash. Robinson has written a book that describes the crash and its life-changing aftermath. The book, Smoke, Fire and Angels was published in 2009 and all book proceeds are donated to a fund to help those most seriously affected by the crash.

The Rotary Club has opened this special meeting to the public. It will take place on Thursday morning, February 18th at 7:30AM at the Ramada Inn on Route 75 (at the junction of Route 20). The cost for the buffet breakfast meeting is $10.00. Mr. Robinson will have copies of his book available for sale and signing.
