Adopt-A-Classroom / Kind News Program
The Windsor Woman's Club, a member of the General Federation of Women's Club, is seeking businesses, civic groups, and individuals to adopt classrooms in Windsor. The Adopt-a-classroom program teaches children to treat people, animals and the environment with kindness and respect.
Each $30 tax-deductible contribution made to Windsor Woman's Club Kids and Kindness Program provides a K-6 teacher and his/her class with a full school year subscription to Kind News. The subscription includes a copy of Kind News to each child and a teachers guide. This classroom newspaper features articles, activities, puzzles and celebrity interviews that emphasize the importance of kindness and help children put basic values like compassion, responsibility and respect into practice.
Kind News has received numerous awards for educational excellence. Windsor Woman's Club hopes to provide this valuable education tool to all our elementary classrooms for this September.
This is a huge endeavor and we would need the support of all.
We have piloted this newspaper in Ellsworth and Clover Street schools and have received VERY POSITIVE feedback. The Woman's Club has sponsored 2 classrooms at Ellsworth school for 3 years with very positive results. We will this year sponsor a 3rd class at Clover Street. The first grade teacher at Clover Street was most impressed because not only can she use this as an interesting learning tool but also now the children will have their own newspaper to take home and share which is very important to young children.
The donor's company name will be on every newspaper bundle so this is also a great advertising tool and a great way to support our teachers and children in a very positive way.
To make a contribution or for more information on the Kind News Program please contact Windsor Woman's Club at 688-5821 or 688-0125.
