Local Businesses Support Police Explorers
"What goes around comes around." Said Jane Garibay director of the Chamber of Commerce about the police explorer program, "The explorers do so much for the community and are helping out at all the community events and in return some of our local Windsor businesses generously support the program."
The Windsor Police Explorers was first established in 1981. It is a community oriented non-profit organization dedicated to developing responsible youth and encouraging academic excellence. Their focus is on leadership, teamwork, and volunteerism as they offer young men and women insight into the field of law enforcement. This program operates year-round under the direction of Officer Petkis, and several other civilian and sworn Advisors.
Petkis said, "We begin our new sponsorship drive this month." He explained that, "Sponsorship funds are used to purchase new uniforms, equipment and training. All the businesses that contribute are doing something and they all deserve recognition."
There are four levels of sponsorship, platinum, gold and silver. Each level comes with many benefits. Included is: recognition through press releases, informational flyers, and through the police explorers Web site. Complimentary tickets are given for their Anniversary banquet, The St.Paul Travelers Championship and the Annual spaghetti supper.
Laurie St Jacques owner of Four Seasons Landscaping has been a sponsor for a number of years and she said. "The reason we like to help is because this program betters the community, it keeps kids involved and out of trouble, and we like to sponsor and help out our local organizations."
The Windsor Police Explorers 2006-2007 Gold sponsors are:Accutron Inc. & The Faldu Family, Carmon Community Funeral Homes, Konica & Minolta Business Solutions Inc.
The 2006-2007 Silver Sponsors include: ADVO Inc., Butler Company, C.I.L. Development of Windsor, Four Seasons Landscaping Inc., River Meadow Farm LLC, Spring Street Service Center, Unisource, Worldwide Inc., Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, Windsor Federal Savings & Loan Assoc.
