The Windsor Land Trust
The Windsor Land Trust (WLT) is a private, non-profit organization, organized by Windsor residents interested in preserving the unique character of our town.
The WLT Board of Trustees are: Frank Davis, Treasurer Samuel Hinckley, Secretary Jim Kandik, Trustee Blaise Rogovich, Chairman
What Are the Goals of the Windsor Land Trust?
The Windsor Land Trust protects open space in perpetuity through acquisition, stewardship, education and advocacy.
We achieve our mission through: - Acquisition of open space through outright gifts, conservation easements and other conservation options. - Stewardship practices that protect and improve biological diversity, wildlife habitat and aesthetics. - Education of the public, government and business community about the importance of open space and our collective role in its protection. - Advocacy at the local and state level for policies and actions that insure the long-term protection of Windsor's natural resources.
In brief, we want to conserve agricultural, scenic, recreational or historically significant land in Windsor for the public good. We believe that agricultural land, historic sites and rural open space can be just as valuable to our community as land that is developed.
