Free First Thursday Late Afternoon on April 3rd at Windsor Historical Society

On Thursday, April 3, Windsor Historical Society joins Windsor businesses participating in the Windsor Chamber of Commerce First Thursdays.

The Society's main building will be open free of charge from 4 7 p.m. The Society's exhibition Camera Crazy: Photographers of Windsor 1885-1930 which features the work of five late-19th century photographers who turned their cameras on Windsor will be open for viewing as will the Four Centuries of Windsor History exhibition in the Society's South Gallery.

Pick up the new Images of America: Windsor photo history book, a ticket for the upcoming Four Centuries House Tour on April 26th, or the Windsoropoly game as well as a selection of toys, games, and Windsor-specific merchandise in the Society's store.

Pore through fascinating old photographs, documents, and school yearbooks in the Society's library. And bring the kids and grandkids to try on colonial costumes, "milk" the cow and "prepare" a colonial meal in the Society's Hands-On-History Learning Center. Punch and cookies will be served.

It's Windsor's 375th birthday year and all Windsor residents owe it to themselves to connect with Windsor's fascinating history at Windsor Historical Society. Our doors are open to you!

The Windsor Historical Society is located at 96 Palisado Avenue (Route 159) and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Normally, general admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students and free to children under 12 and WHS members. Call (860) 688-3813 or visit us on the web at www.windsorhistoricalsociety.org for directions to the Society and more information about programs.
