NORTHWEST PARK & NATURE CENTER 145 Lang Rd. (Rte.75 to Prospect Hill Road)
This 473 acre community recreational facility has ten miles of marked trails for hiking, jogging and cross-country skiing; a maple sugar house, an animal barn and a modern Nature Center with interpretive programs for groups of every age.
The Tobacco Cultural Museum, which houses photographs, exhibits and artifacts of the Connecticut Valley's tobacco industry, is located at the park
Activities at Northwest Park:
* Nature Walks and Self-Guided Nature Trails including a Braille Trail for visually challenged (Trail Map) * Programs on owls, bluebirds, pond study, reptiles and amphibians, mammals, endangered species, tracking, and much more * Summer Nature Camp for children ages Pre-K through 8th grade * Live Animal Exhibits and Demonstrations * An Animal Barn with Heritage Breed Animals * Picnic Facilities * Playground * Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoeing Trails and Rentals * Community Gardens * Tobacco Cultural Museum and Archive * Coffee House Concert Series
