Windsor Public Library
Lots of things are labeled "new and improved" but that description doesn't do justice to the newly renovated Windsor Public Library (June 2006). On November 4, 2003, Windsor's voters approved the money needed for the renovation and after more than two years of hard work, our new library is ready.
It's bigger! The new library is 33% bigger but actually has almost twice the useable space.
It's wired...and wireless! The new library now has 40 computers for public use or bring your laptop to access the Internet from anywhere in the building without wires.
Kids will love it! There is a new preschool play area with a glass floor beneath a sunny cupola, a children's craft room for library programs and a family restroom, decorated with tiles painted by Windsor children.
It's comfortable and convenient! You'll find plenty of easy chairs for relaxing, reading or using your laptop; three quiet study rooms for private or small group study and convenient handicapped parking near the front door.
It's great for meetings! Our new library has a large community meeting room with projection equipment and public address system and a smaller meeting room for 12 or less. With all of our convenient parking, it's the best place for meetings in town.
It's more convenient than ever! Click on www.windsorlibrary.com and download audiobooks, read full-text magazine articles, apply for a library card, request and renew materials or check your account.
Thanks to everyone! Community support throughout Windsor made this wonderful new library possible. Special thanks to the 220 Windsor residents who together, stored tens of thousands of the library's books during the renovation. We couldn't have done it without you!
