Shad Derby Parade 2008 - Thank You!Despite a warning of rain, the crowds came out in large numbers to celebrate Windsor's Shad Derby parade and enjoy the sun on Saturday May 17th, 2008.
We couldn't have hoped for a nicer day. Lots of hands made the work of running our first booth easy. It was actually three booths in one. Jonathan presented slides from the recycling program he started at Sage Park Middle school. We had computers showing slides from Connecticut's "One Thing" program, and another with internet access to sign people up to our email mailing list, and the CT Clean Energy options program. Finally we had a hands-on demonstration showing the actual energy usage of different types of lightbulbs, a radio, and more.
Thank you everyone for contributing so much to the booth. The list is long and includes everything from brochures from CL&P, CT Clean Energy Fund, recycling bins from Windsor Sanitation, custom printed banners and signs and name tags from various people, a canopy from First Town Downtown, tables and lots of support from the Chamber, and more. (Sorry if I forgot to mention something.)
And finally, thank you everyone that came down on Saturday to spend time together and promote green activities in Windsor.
