POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Ambassadors shall Welcome and mentor new businesses and professionals

1. Interview the new member and understand their Chamber needs
2. Stay in touch and mentor that new member for the first year
3. Assist in contacts so the new member can join committees, sponsor activities, etc.
4. One year follow up with member to understand the level of satisfaction with the Chamber
5. Attend Business After Hours and Open House Events
6. Recruit new members
7. Plan and host May Membership Meeting

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend monthly committee meetings (You must attend six out of 12 per year)
  • Participate in Ambassador visits to new / relocated businesses, ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, Chamber events, etc. (when schedule permits)
  • Participate in new member drives
  • Participate in member / potential member calls
  • Delivery of new member packets and renewal letters
  • Assist Chamber with membership retention and growth
  • Understand the Chamber programs and events
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General knowledge of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Outgoing personality
  • ATTRIBUTES:

  • Self starter
  • Works independently
  • Positive attitude
  • TIME COMMITMENT:

    Varies. There is a one year minimum time commitment. The Ambassadors meet on a monthly basis (fourth Thursday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). You must attend six out of 12 monthly committee meetings per year. Member and potential member calls are done at the convenience of the volunteer. Ribbon cuttings, events, etc, vary in length, frequency and date commitment.

    PROMOTION OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Ambassadors will be listed on the website with their bio and picture
  • Each member will receive one free ad in the Chamber eNewsletter
  • At the end of each fiscal year, each active Ambassador will be entered into a drawing for a two night stay at the Mystic Marriott donated by the Sheraton at Bradley.
