The April Business After Hours will be hosted by the Windsor Art Center at the Freight House on Wednesday, April 16th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at 40 Mechanic Street, Windsor.

Community Awareness Event
The Town of Windsor Youth Commission, Police Department and Windsor High School are hosting a community awareness event focusing on teen drunk driving issues, to be held in the Auditorium at the L.P. Wilson Community Center located at 599 Matianuck Avenue in Windsor, Connecticut on Wednesday April 16 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The program is for both parents and teens.

Town of Windsor Earth Day Clean-Up
The is scheduled for Friday, April 18. Those interested in volunteering are asked to meet behind Town Hall at 12:15 PM. This year marks the 38th anniversary of Earth Day, and many volunteers are needed including those from Windsor businesses, scout troops and residents. The organized clean-up effort of will begin at 12:30. Tools and gloves will be provided.

The Story of Windsor's Award-Winning Settlement Hill Development
On Thursday, April 17th at 7:00 p.m., join us at Windsor Historical Society as South Windsor's Linda Sunderland of Sunderland Period Homes presents a behind-the-scenes look at the story behind the development of Windsor's Settlement Hill neighborhood, located across the street from the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead on Palisado Avenue (Route 159). This special event is associated with Windsor Historical Society's special "Four Centuries of Preservation" House Tour on Saturday, April 26.

What do Native Americans and early English settlers have to do with the environment? From the food they prepared to the homes they built, they all used "earth friendly" ways to live their lives. 350 years later, Windsor families can still make a difference! This April vacation, come to the Windsor Historical Society's Hands-On-History Learning Center, where kids will find a variety of "green" programs to delight, entertain and even educate!

Swim Across The Sound
On August 2, 2008 Marty McMahon will be participating in the 21st annual Swim Across the Sound. This is a sixteen mile swim from Port Jefferson, New York across Long Island Sound to Bridgeport, Connecticut. The swim is a fundraiser for St. Vincent's Hospital cancer programs. Marty's Goal is to raise over $2000 for this worthy cause.
