Tea Enthusiasts Excited For Wade & Tea Fair

Tea Enthusiasts Excited For Wade & Tea Fair
TEA FAIR CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND. WE ARE TRYING TO RESCHEDULE. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW ASAP.Windsor, CT - October 25, 2011 - Tea is hot! The recent explosion in the popularity of all kinds of tea has caused a number of tea festivals to pop up around the country. A unique tea fair is being held November 5 - 6 in Windsor, CT as part of the Wade & Tea Fair, an annual event sponsored by the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.

The fair is being held at the Windsor Town Hall at 275 Broad Street (enter from rear of building), on Saturday Nov. 5 from 10 am to 3 pm and Sunday Nov. 6 from 10 am to 2 pm.

"Tea boasts a range of benefits, including health and flavor, that culminate to provide people with a relaxing experience," said Cindi Bigelow, vice president of R.C. Bigelow Tea.

This is the sixth annual Wade & Tea Fair. Each year collectors and vendors of Wade porcelain come to Windsor from all over the US, Canada and even England, the home country of Wade. The tea half of the fair has been steadily growing.

The pairing of Tea with Wade started many years ago when Wade figurines were added to Red Rose Tea boxes as a premium. "To put Wade and Tea together at the fair was an easy decision," says Jane Garibay, Executive Director of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce.

"We're excited to have several new tea vendors including Crepes Tea House who will be serving freshly made crepes and tea, Lao Long Tea Company, Herbs Teas Flowers and Forgotten Acre Farms," says Paula Pierce, chairperson of the Chamber's Tourism Committee. The tea vendors collectively offer many different types of loose and bagged green tea, black tea, oolong, and herbal teas as well as accessories like tea balls, tea recipes and tea party supplies.

Attendees pay $5 admission to the fair and get a Wade figurine free of charge. There are also free Wade collector starter kits for the kids. The fair special Wade piece this year is a lovely teapot ornament. Peruse more than 30 tables full of Wade and Tea goods Saturday and Sunday and enjoy activities like tea talks at the fair, a Mother-Daughter Tea Party at the Beanery Bistro at Bart's on Sunday, and tea- and Wade-themed shopping at Patti's Treasures, Lucindas Beads and Bill Selig Jewelers. There will also be a Red Hat Happy Hour on Sunday morning.

"Tea has become fashionable, attracting the interest of sophisticated consumers, the health conscious and armchair adventurers who can explore exotic cultures in a teacup," according to Providence Cicero of The Seattle Times.

For more information, to register, and to download the fair schedule and map, go to the Windsor Chamber website (www.WindsorCC.org). $5 admission includes admission to the fair on both days. Call 860-688-5165 for more information.
