Donate old computers to Ross and he build working computers for teachers, seniors and other people who need them. He does a clean DOD on each hard drive, preventing old information from being used by someone else.

Apple Recycling Program
Purchase any qualifying Apple computer or monitor and receive free recycling of your old computer and monitor - regardless of manufacturer. Take your old computer and a printed copy of your Apple recycling email to a FedEx location and drop them off for shipment.

- Windsor/Bloomfield Recycling & Landfill, 500 Hucklberry Rd, Windsor
Includes: used portable rechargeable batteries (commonly found in cordless power tools, cordless phones, laptop computers, camcorders, digital cameras, and remote control toys) RBRC recycles the following battery chemistries: Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion (Li-ion) and Small Sealed Lead* (Pb).

The Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority recycles unusable computers, VCRs, cell phones, printers, answring machines, printers and other electronics. They have kept more than two million pounds of electronics out of landfills since they started in 1999. [However, Windsor is NOT currently on the list of Mid-CT participants.]

Windsor Freecycle is a local group of internet users who post emails with OFFERS of things they don't need and WANTEDS for things they are looking for. Join today! Clean out the clutter! Find new homes for usable items and keep them out of the landfills!

Plastic Toothbrushes and Razor Handles
Preserve toothbrushes, razor handles and tongue cleaners can have a second life as plastic lumber for park benches, decks and more! Print out this postage-paid label to return them to us to be reborn.

Printer Cartridges & Cell Phones
Bring your used inkjet and laser printer cartridges and cell phones to the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. Both the Chamber and the local public schools earn about 30 cents on the dollar by recycling your user printer cartridges. There's a box in the entrance way of the Chamber. If you'd like to place a box in your office, please contact Jane.

Peanut Hotline online or call 800-828-2214 to find out where you can drop off reusable packing peanuts and bubblewrap locally. Drop off location in Windsor:

Sneakers and other Athletic Shoes
Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program is a key component of Nike's long-term commitment to waste elimination by helping to close the loop on the life cycle of literally millions of pairs of old, worn-out or otherwise unusable athletic shoe material. Only non-metal containing athletic shoes can be accepted. Local drop off locations:
