Marty McMahon, a local financial advisor for the financial services firm Edward Jones, invites the public to attend a career open house from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2012.

The event is designed to give individuals the opportunity to talk face to face with Edward Jones financial advisors and get firsthand knowledge of the career opportunities Edward Jones offers.

"Edward Jones is truly different from other Wall Street firms," McMahon said. "We're looking for high achievers who have a desire to run a business with the support of a much larger organization. Our financial advisors live in the communities where our clients live and work."

In a time when many U.S. businesses are experiencing zero growth or are actually downsizing, Edward Jones is aggressively expanding its number of financial advisors.

"Our financial advisors come from diverse backgrounds. Teachers, bankers and engineers all have joined the ranks of Edward Jones. They all, however, have one thing in common: They are self-starters who enjoy working with and helping other people," McMahon said.
