Free Portrait Painting Demonstration

On Tuesday evening, April 8, from 7:15 to 9:30 PM, Sandra Wakeen, owner of the Wakeen Gallery in Wethersfield, will demonstrate portrait painting in oils, at the L.P. Wilson Community Center, sponsored by the Windsor Palette & Brush Club.The demonstration will follow a brief business meeting. It is open to everyone, and refreshments will be served. Sandra is an Honors graduate from Paier School of Art, receiving the prestigious Ken Davies Award. She has also studied in France and Italy.

An award winning Portrait Artist Sandra is now a regional Representative for The Ct Society of Portrait Artist. Her work can be found in the permanent collection of the New Britain Museum of American Art, The Florence Griswold Museum, and private collections thought out New England and Europe. She also has works in numerous hospitals, schools and libraries throughout Connecticut.

Sandra has served on The Board of Directors of the Lyme Art Association for the past three years, Ct Society of Portrait Artist and The Wethersfield Academy of Art. She is a member of The Academic Artist Association, Oli Painters of America and a charter member of The Ct River Valley Artist.

Sandra works in her studio in Somers, Ct. Her paintings may be viewed at Avalon Gallery in Carmel Ca. Susan Powell Gallery, Madison Ct , PS Gallery, Litchfield Ct, The Lyme Art Association, Gallery Wakeen in Old Wethersfield and JMichaels Tavern and Gallery in Old Wethersfield.
