Green Committee promotes environmental message at Windsor Shad Derby

Recycle at home, school, and work. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs. Carpool. String a clothesline. Buy renewable energy. Save money and cut emissions by conserving. Yes, we can all do at least 'one thing' to help our town, state, country, and world become a greener place to live. That's the message that the newly formed Windsor Green committee is bringing to their Shad Derby festival booth this Saturday, May 17th.

This community group, sponsored by the Windsor Chamber of Commerce, invites you to visit their booth in front of the Chamber of Commerce Luddy House to learn and discuss simple ways we can all recycle, conserve, and save. Showcased will be the success story of the student-initiated Sage Park Recyling program and practical messages from Connecticut's new 'OneThing' conservation community action campaign.

Heads of households are encouraged to help Windsor promote clean energy generation and earn a second 1 kW solar array by switching your home to renewable wind and falling water generated clean energy. If you bring your most recent CL&P bill, committee members are prepared sign you up on-line in our booth while explaining your carbon footprint reduction. If you sign up, we will give you a free compact fluorescent bulb to help you save money and the planet at the same time.
