Time:10:00 AM
Location:Windsor Historical Society, 96 Palisado Avenue, Windsor, CT

Looking for a fun family activity? Starting February 20th, photographers of any age from any town or state can submit up to five digital images of Windsor subjects that capture the theme of "Windsor Wonderland" for the Society's Facebook Photo Contest. Windsor is a wonderland full of inspiration -- architecture, people, wildlife, and so much more. Just e-mail your jpeg files with brief captions to Christina Vida at cvida@windsorhistoricalsociety.org between February 20th and April 5th. They will be posted on the Society's Facebook page where all the voting will take place. Don't have a digital camera? The Society will have cameras available to borrow for 30 minutes from Monday, February 20th, through Friday, February 24th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (children must be accompanied by an adult, and adults must leave an ID). Prize winners will be announced on April 13th. The first prize winner with the most votes will receive $100. Second prize is $75, and third prize is $50. The first-place winner will also have an image chosen to be archived and sold as a postcard in the Society's gift shop.

The Windsor Historical Society, founded in 1921, invites visitors to explore the people, places, and events that have shaped Windsor for over 375 years. The Society's museum includes changing and permanent exhibition galleries; a hands-on-history learning center for families; a research library and
manuscript collection housing Windsor photographs, documents, ephemera, and genealogical materials; a museum gift shop and two historic houses open to the public: the 1758 John and Sarah
Strong House and the 1767 Dr. Hezekiah Chaffee House.

The Windsor Historical Society is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. General admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, and free to children under 12 and Society members. Call (860) 688-3813 or visit us on the web at http://windsorhistoricalsociety.org for directions to the Society and more information about programs. To receive e-reminders for public programs, please send your e-mail address to jalberti@windsorhistoricalsociety.org.
