The Vintage Radio and Communications Museum
of Connecticut is sponsoring a Wine, Chocolate and Jewelry pre-Valentines Day event on
Saturday, February 7th from 7pm until 10pm
In addition to chocolate and wine tastings and jewelry demonstrations, guests will be entertained by an original radio drama performed by the Radio Workshop Players.
"This is an opportunity for people to find a unique gift for someone they love or themselves, enjoy a night of radio theater, and help support the Communications Museum all at the same time," says Museum Director John Ellsworth. "One-hundred-percent of the admission for the event will go to help support the museum and its mission of educating young and old about the history of communications and how things like radio, television, and telephone have changed the world."
Attendees are encouraged to wear red and the radio play will start around 7:30p. Admission is $15 in advance and $17 at the door. Museum members are $12. To purchase tickets, call (860) 683-2903 or visit the museum at 115 Pierson Lane in Windsor. More information about the museum can be found at www.vrcmct.org.
The Vintage Radio & Communications Museum of Connecticut has been in operation since 1990 and has become an educational resource for schools and community organizations. The museum's mission is to show how communications technology has changed our lives. Through guided tours given by knowledgeable docents, visitors learn about modern communications from the telegraph through the Internet. Many displays provide hands-on experiences, such as listening to an wind-up Victrola record player, tuning a 1925 radio, tapping out your name in Morse code and much more.
