Part of Windsor's yearly tradition, the "Shad Derby Festival", is to stock the pond at Washington Park with trout and invite our children to come fish, have some dinner and enjoy springtime in New England.

The Windsor Jaycees along with help from Windsor SEPTA and Best Buddies will hold this event on Friday, May 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Jaycees will supply the fishing poles, bait, and dinner (for people).

This event is named after Windsor's first Special Education teacher and lifelong advocate of children, Sheila Schmidt.

This year will be "catch and return", where all fish caught will be returned to the pond to grow even bigger!

Additional chaperones are welcome and we encourage you to come out and enjoy a spring evening with your child on the banks of Washington Park pond!
