Children will explore Windsor's history while participating in field trips through modern Windsor to discover what Windsor means to them. Using the Historical Society's "Four Centuries of Windsor" and the new "Windsor Then and Now: A Photo History 1890 2008" exhibitions as a starting point, children will then go out into the community. Some areas on interest will be the Palisado Green, Palisado Burying Grounds, Town Hall, Huntington House, Loomis Chaffee, River Trail and various statues, monuments and sculptures. Children will learn photography and photo editing skills, canvas painting and creative writing skills. The week will culminate with a group focused exhibition that will travel around Windsor in 2009.
