Union Street Tavern 3rd annual 5k road/trail race will be held on Sunday September 20, Walkers welcome. Proceeds to benefit Alex's Lemonade Foundation & Mary's Place, A Center for Grieving children and Families.

Union street Tavern is sponsoring this event for the 3rd year as a Family Fun Day and to support 2 great local charities. Several owners of the Tavern went to school with Liz and Jay Scott (Alex's parents)and maintain ties to this day. Some of them new Alex personally and all have children and see the need to support Children's cancer research.

Mary's Place, a center for grieving children and families has been located in Windsor and supported by the Carmon family and donations for over 16 years. at present over a 100 children and families are being helped through Mary's Place. No fee is charged to the families. Mary's Place is a safe, self help facility with trained facilitators and volunteers to help families through the journey of grief with one another.
