Don Trinks Assumes New Role as WCC Community Advisor

My name is Don Trinks, most folks know me as Windsor’s longest serving Mayor and local business owner. Since my retirement I have been looking for ways to continue to serve my community. I am pleased to have accepted a volunteer appointment as an Honorary Board Member for the Windsor Chamber of Commerce. Volunteerism is at the core of what makes Windsor the amazing community it is, and the true strength of our community is our volunteer spirit. Those citizens who donated countless hours volunteering with our many civic organizations including the Chamber provide valuable resources and strengthen the bonds among local businesses and organizations.

The Chamber has long been a pillar of our community, in operation for 114 years, it has stood the test of time through world wars and pandemics. They have capably served the business community of Windsor and its surrounding towns through the goodwill and support of citizens and businesspeople that have volunteered their time to ensure the Chamber can fulfill its mission to provide services, advocacy, and support to create opportunities for the growth of our business community.
In my new role as Community Liaison for the Chamber, it is my goal to foster a culture of volunteerism, as this has been a cornerstone in achieving our shared goal of supporting the community. The dedication of our volunteers not only enhances the Chamber’s ability to support its members, but the collective efforts amplify its impact, creating a vibrant and interconnected business community. The Chamber is currently seeking volunteers to serve on several committees. These committees don’t just talk but are actively working to achieve goals!

As a former Mayor and business owner, I say with experience that volunteering serves as a pathway to valuable networking opportunities, allowing individuals to connect with peers, business leaders, and community stakeholders. By actively participating in Chamber events, initiatives, and committees, volunteers engage in conversations that extend beyond the immediate task at hand. This fosters a sense of community but is also invaluable in opening doors to new partnerships, collaborations, and a deeper understanding of the diversity that makes up the thriving economy of Windsor.
