Interviewed by: TL Rotkiewicz Photo by: Michael Taylor

Anthony Andeen is a General Sales Manager at Mitchell Selig Ford of 801 Bloomfield Ave. The Mitchell Auto Group has been serving the state of Connecticut for nearly a century. Bill Selig Ford, Inc. of Windsor was established in 1970. The two auto companies merged in 2013, creating Mitchell Selig Ford. It is a family owned and operated Ford Dealer serving the greater Hartford and Springfield areas. They are ‘Your Road to Total Satisfaction’.

Anthony was born in Connecticut. His family moved to Virginia when he was two years old. “I love the south. There’s a whole different dynamic down there.” Anthony explains. He remained there for twelve years before moving back to Connecticut where he attended Haddam-Killingworth High School. After graduating, he went on to Middlesex Community College in Middletown for a semester before transferring to Lynchberg College of Virginia. He went there for Sports Management and Communications, which eventually lead up to him being hired by ESPN in Bristol, CT. for digital advertising and marketing. Anthony worked there for a little over three years as Stats and Analysis Editor. When the 2008 financial crash happened, ESPN laid off approximately 36,000 people. Anthony found himself without a job. A friend of his at Liberty Mutual told him he should get into sales. The thought was, you can’t go any lower. The economy will pick up and where better to start than in the auto industry? Anthony went to HARTE INFINITI in Hartford without anticipating an interview. The manager hired him on the spot as a Sales Consultant and he later became Internet Sales Manager. Eventually he left to further his new career at Grossman Chevy Nissan in Old Saybrook. He became Finance Manager. Opportunity and growth helped with his decision to move on to Mitchell Selig Ford as Sales Manager. The gentleman who hired him, he had met when they both worked at INFINITI as Sales Consultants. They hit it off right away, as both mutually understood where they came from moving up in the business and having similar interests. Anthony took the position. As of 2017, he was promoted to General Sales Manager.

When it comes to Windsor, Anthony says, “It’s the oldest town in the state. It’s got a lot more history than what you know if you were to just drive through Windsor. There’s a lot more to it. It’s huge. You don’t think about it.” Mitchell Selig Ford has been participating in the Windsor Shad Derby Festival for three years as of now. They staff it; four vehicles are put out for display on the green. They provide convertibles and Mustangs for the Shad Derby Queen participants and festival chairpersons. Anthony says he and Service Manager, Dan Los try to keep things more local in wanting to be incorporated within the town. They are involved with the Windsor Travel Baseball Team as a sponsor, providing signage on the field and jerseys with their company’s logo.

Outside of Windsor, Anthony says Mitchell Selig Ford is involved with The Artists Collective First Annual Golf Tournament at Keney Golf Course to be held in June, and the Roaring Brook Nature Center of Canton, CT.

On his off time, Anthony has been a travel basketball coach for Haddam-Killingworth over the past five years. He has two younger brothers, one who he coached from forth to eighth grade. Anthony is an avid golf enthusiast. He has a puppy that just turned a year old. He always visits family on Sundays.

Three words that describe Anthony: Energetic, passionate, and fun.
